Interesting thought, I like it! Culpeper recommends Ivy leaves soaked in rosewater on your forehead against headaches, but is against ingesting it. He states that it "is an enemy to the nerves and sinews taken inwardly, but most excellent outwardly." So you might well be right how it could have worked! Thanks for the tip 😉😄 It certainly is mildly toxic, the berries are too. Not sure if it'll be my hangover / anti-drunkenness cure this festive season though... 😄
In my garden it grows and grew all over the pace. I have been removing a lot of it. Of course you know the Dutch name: klimop. No misunderstanding there 😊

Wij hebben ook overal klimop. De Nederlandse taal is toch veel directer dan het Engels.
