My daughter started a columbine from seed and I planted it as just a tiny thing with a couple of leaves. It has been coming up every spring. They look so delicate but seem pretty resilient!
Here it is columbine season, they are everywhere. Love them for it. Almost a shame that you have to look upside down for the most beautiful side of the flower. And, espescially with the pinkish ones, I see the unopened flower heads as hearts with file chambers. Silly me 😊
I love them too, our garden is full of them, from purple to almost white. I can see what you mean with the heart shape though, it’s there, together with the pigeons and eagles. It’s such a lovely and slightly complicated looking flower, we can see whatever we feel in our hearts!

They are! They grow everywhere.
I’m forever going to see pigeons when I look at them now. I love them and all their surprise variations 🧡
Once you’ve seen the pigeons you can’t unsee them 😃 - I love those columbines!
You describe all my favorites 💜

FIVE chambers I meant.
